Whatever it Takes.

Connect with your source of life!

Trees do whatever it takes to connect with their source of life. They will bend and contort themselves to reach out to the sun. BentTree is designed to help you learn and practice spiritual disciplines to help you connect with your source of life.

Understanding Our Role

A farmer understands his role in the growth process. If he or she does not plant seeds they will not reap a very big harvest. There might be a few seeds of the chosen variety that will naturally grow, but without the farmer playing a part, the harvest will be limited. If the farm does not work the ground to remove

Practice

Much of our discipleship involves sitting a learning. Spiritual disciplines are ways to put our faith into practice and grow.

Gift or Giver

Fasting from good gifts that God has given you can check to see if you love the Giver or the gifts that he has given you more.

Idol Detector

Spiritual Disciplines can help you decern idols in your life that can otherwise seem like good things.

Turn Truth into Trust

Disciplines take what we know about God from Scripture and allow us to experience the truth in our own lives.

Abide

Disciplines can remove some of the other things we connect with so that we can focus on abiding in Christ.

Wilderness

God often uses the wilderness as a training grounds for propelling people into a trusting relationship with Himself.

Discipleship

Why don’t Christians automatically begin to look like Jesus?

As a young believer I heard a lot about grace and I thought that meant our growth should be automatic. I noticed so many people who said they were followers of Jesus, but looked nothing like Jesus. I set out to find out how people grow to become like Christ? How have people in the past shaped a character like Jesus. I’m a visual learner, so I have developed some illustrations to help make spiritual disciplines and their process of change understandable.

Grace makes us opposed to works. We get the idea that we don’t have to do anything

Faith without works is dead.

Build on WordPress

Disciplines take away the things that are filling our lives, yet leaving us empty.

We have so many things in our modern world that consume our time. So many things promise to change our lives, make us more comfortable, or leave us feeling satisfied. More friends or followers on social media. A new gadget to make life easier, faster, or more convenient. We are left still feeling disappointed. Like raiding the cookie jar before dinner. They fill us up with things that are empty and then we aren’t hungry to chase after what can really fill us and sustain our lives.

The WordPress Site Editor is a total game changer. It’s blazing fast and I don’t need a page builder anymore. 😍
